Rising

(Light in Empty Heart by Astranat - Deviant Art)

~ Rising ~

Empty is the heart
with nothing to lose
too bored to bleed
to fragile to use

veils and visions
fire and smoke
avoid the burn
pull up the cloak

can't find release
over the edge
one cannot hold
an empty pledge

nothing to give
just pain to accrue
expectations
wasted on you...

You showed me this:
expectations
accrue on merit;
give no donations.

Pledge to myself:
hold only candor
edge from the dark
release love's slander

cloak the darkness
burn all the lies
smoke carries hope
visions on the rise

use the pain to learn
bleed for love tonight
lose all inhibitions
heart to heart, ignite.

  2. For all of your variations, you are still the master of couplets. The manner in which you drive your points home here is astounding. For those who read, there is either affirmation or condemnation; anything aside is their imagination.
